Custom Wheels
Wheelfine Imports owner Michael Johnson is a renowned DT Swiss Certified wheel builder. He has built wheels for every type of cyclist imaginable; weight weenie road racers, clydesdale weekend warriors, tandem tourers, BMX, mountain bikes, cyclocross, etc. in all types (tubular, clincher, tubeless). Many of the bikes on the sales floor of the shop feature his beautiful wheels.
Wheelwork Pricing (per wheel)
True Wheel: $15
Competition Rim Build: rim brake road or track wheel from new
spoke length calculation, custom rim preparation, lubrication of spoke
nipples, pre-tension, spoke freeze application, final truing, & clean-up $100
Competition Disc Build: disc brake road, gravel, or mountain wheel from new
spoke length calculation, custom rim preparation, lubrication of spoke
nipples, pre-tension, spoke freeze application, final truing, & clean-up
*does NOT include installation of tubeless tape and valve $120
Super Competition Build: same as competition build but spokes are tied and soldered+$7.50/ cross
Rebuild: additional costs incurred for rebuilds
-reuse hub +$10
-reuse rim +$20
-remove cassette/freewheel/cog, tire, tube, rotor, etc +$30
-road tubeless: remove tire, sealant, rotor, etc +$45
-mountain/gravel tubeless: remove tire, sealant, rotor, etc +$60
-tubeless with tire liner: remove tire, sealant, liner, rotor, etc +$65
-sealed rim: any work with an undrilled sealed rim bed +$65
Aero: any of above using aero bladed spokes and pre-slotting hubs +$40
Ti/Alloy: same as above using titanium or aluminum nipples +$10
Prices above are for labor only; not including cost of rims, hubs, spokes, nipples, skewers, rimstrips, tubeless tape/ valves etc.
